Don't Let The Girls Distract You
Ananya has joined a premier engineering college in her country, a feat that she has worked all her student life to achieve. Her heart brimming with the perfect concoction of enthusiasm and anxiousness, she takes on the herculean task of fitting in this excessively male-dominated academic environment, where female students are mostly seen as a peripheral distraction.
She wraps her head around the inherent imperfections in adult life, and is challenged to brave new areas of morality and virtue where there is no black or white, only different shades of grey. She silently observes with mild amusement as she and the women in and around her life frantically juggle their love interests, their dreams and aspirations and their necessity to come across as “regular”, while riding along the precipice that looks down to total chaos. Eventually as she gets accustomed to the unfathomable idiosyncrasies of the borderline misogynistic rigmarole in her college life, she comes to realize how women almost compulsorily need to “grow a pair” to be taken seriously.
