About the Author: Pradeep Malhotra is a nature lover and a hills person keenly interested in arts and crafts. He spends time between Delhi and his rural farm home, ‘Dharini’ in the Kumaon Himalayas, where he takes the opportunity to interact with the local community and wander, explore amid wild plants and wood smoke, and the bustle of birds, animals and children. He has done a stint with agricultural aviation and has been actively involved over the years with the SOS Children’s Villages; the environmental NGOs Kalpavriksh, Centre for Science and Environment; and Community Books and Resources. He has done post graduate studies in Mass Communications from Sardar Patel College of Communications and Management, Delhi and attended study programmes in Ecology and Spirituality at Schumacher College, UK, and Art and Culture at the National Museum Institute, Delhi.
