The Pretence of Colour: The art of deception and fulfilment behind a masterpiece
This book exposes the reader to the world of visual art.
Art is a byproduct of the artist’s talent, concepts, beliefs, and perception. It is the creator’s articulation of work based on knowledge, skill, experience, and passion.
The images in this book are part of the author's abstract portfolio in different media. The auction features one artwork (refer to the book cover), which is the artist's rendition of the Australian terrain based on an aerial photograph taken by an astronaut.
It is an honour for the author to share her visions and insights on art, with the hope to encourage, and maybe even inspire, aspiring visual artists to express their work freely, enjoying the journey of creativity.
The care and love shown at the Windermere Aged Care Facility for its residents, as witnessed by the author, has influenced her to develop a storyline along the lines.
About The Author and Illustrator: Estela has been creating visual art for over ten years. A self-taught artist, she paints sketches, and sometimes sculpts on clay. Her art genres include still life, portraiture, landscape; her subjects include flora and fauna, man, heavenly bodies, and abstracts.
These days, most of Estela’s time is spent in creating and teaching art and writing books. She equally enjoys creating art crafts for the young and the elderly.
She was a devoted computer software specialist in the banking information technology for many years. Together with her (late) husband, she has raised two boys who currently reside with her in Sydney, Australia.
