Mind and Memory
‘Mind and Memory’ explores the complexity of perceptions of reality in contrast to reality itself. Past experiences serve as an anchor for the future, or perhaps they don't; instead, they remain mere vestiges of altered and lost memories and perspectives of reconstructed realities. The thoughts and actions of individuals no longer remain a response to reality but to perceptions thereof, which encompass human experiences ranging from mundane daily activities to tragic events. Amnesia is perhaps more powerful than memory in shaping reality. While reality and circumstances may remain unchangeable, these poems offer a way, not to escape from chaos, oppression, danger, and uncertainty, but to face them with resilience, without compromising the freedom of thought and memory.
