Alexander Pope (1688-1744), the most important English poet, translator, and satirist of the Enlightenment era, regarded satire as a “holy weapon, left for Truth’s defence, solitary terror of Folly, Vice, and Insolence.” It is a fascinating and unique method of expression in both written and spoken literature. About the Author: Dr. Raavi Parihar Batra is the Head of the Department of Film Production and Communication, and an Assistant Professor at KES Shroff College of Arts and Commerce, Mumbai.
