The book is intended to be an anthology of Indian art through the ages, told through about 100 objects (paintings, sculptures etc) from the personal collection of Drs. Anirban and Rejina Sadhu. Chronologically, the earliest objects are pottery from Mehrgarh (Haparran period - 9000BC), while the most recent piece is a post-modern contemporary work of photography. In between these two chronological extremes, there are paintings and miniatures representing all major artists and schools of Indian art. The book is partly academic, partly anecdotal but fully engaging, informative and entertaining. It would be as much an interesting reading as a coffee table book as it would be to a serious reader interested in exploring the richness of Indian art.

About The Author: Dr. Anirban Sadhu is a neurobiologist by training and an art collector by passion. His interest in Indian art developed as a corollary to his deep rooted interest in Indian history and culture. An Indian by birth and heritage, Anirban has lived and travelled in many different parts of the world. For the last 22 years, he calls Switzerland his home, where he lives with his wife, his art and his two children.
