Sardar of Shambhu, a Lost Legend...almost
As the saying goes, “You are getting old when you can remember what happened 40 years ago but cannot remember in the evening what you had for lunch.” So I decided to document all the events that I still remember and tried to collect some facts that other members of the family could contribute to my effort to write about the Shambhu family. I am extremely grateful to those who provided all the help collecting the data.
About the Author: After completion of my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree at D.A.V. College Ambala City, I joined MLM College, Modinagar. During my studies I applied for Short Service Commission in Indian Army. I was selected in the final interview but could not pass the medical test due to my excessive sweating glands. So I decided to leave India, going abroad and settling there. After traveling Middle East, several European countries I reached Germany around August 1968. Studied at Control Data Institute 1970-1971 and completed Diploma in Computer Programming. Joined US Army Head Quarters in Frankfurt as a Local National employee and retired in 2016 as Computer Programmer/Analyst.
