Wayward Thoughts is a bevy of essays, commentaries, observations, description and narratives on topics which appeared in day to day life and one or two specific ally with time they were written. Pension and 24x7 maids have surfaced more in the book as they were expression of immediate experience in terms of age and ailments being bothering then. The topics are useful for the reader as they provide a wholesome content, those can be cathartic for them in their day today life. Most of them are of modern terminology which are in use by all and sundry. There is one smiley ‘Chitragupt on leave’ and one pedagogical ‘education and war’. Pass time is spelt just as allegory of life of common man. There are narratives on 'phrases' that are used to console the subject (mostly old aged and dependents) and conceal one's alibi to leave the scenario. Some topics on items which have been dealt with for their being in vogue only, rather than of need. Some topics are about the words in everyday use. The narrative are reflection and subjective statements or say other than common concept prevailing among the populace. All in all, the 28 (twenty eight) essays are full of content and convincing expression/impression.
About the Author: Wg. Cdr. Satish Chandra Saxena retired from the Indian Air Force after executing multiple roles as Basic Squadron Commander (Leadership), Sainik School headmaster, Psychologist on the Services Selection Board (SSB), Counter intelligence Officer, Systems and Methods Instructor etc.
An MA in English Literature from Allahabad University in 1958, he was always busy reading all types of literary, social, and political literature and expressing himself through his writing right from his university days. He was the Editor and publisher of a magazine narrating the news, views and comments about the university called `Chillies Times: He continued and further dedicated his time to reading fiction of all genres and privately writing stories after retirement. Writing allowed him to declutter his mind, of any and every feeling, about people and personalities, situations, and services, keeping him in health and humour. He commenced writing this fiction after a long time interacting, meeting, and conversing with people from all walks of life. It is a work of fiction created to bring out the various aspect of living in the daily life of human beings.
