The complexities of the difficulties that exist in Indonesian national education are challenging for educational experts who are truly concerned about improving the quality of national education. Furthermore, the lack of a Blueprint for regulating and charting national education adds to the uncertainty of national education's future orientation. It could be argued that Indonesia has yet to discover the optimum educational pattern. Furthermore, the increasingly turbulent global environment and the rapid advancement of technology add to the long list of difficulties affecting Indonesian education.

As stated in the 2003 Indonesian National Education System Law, the current objective of Indonesian education is to produce a human being with noble character. However, the steps made have not been directed, thus this great goal remains far from being achieved.

At this time, the purpose of this book is to help identify and provide ideas for educational challenges in Indonesia. This book contains writings from academics from the Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Semarang, along with fellow education practitioners. This book contains three key concepts grouped into three sections, namely Education and Covid-19 Pandemic, Education and Innovation, and Education and Challenge.

It is hoped that this book would help to enrich ideas for achieving education goals in Indonesia.

About the Author: Siti Nuzulia, PhD, lecturer in the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Semarang since 2005. Her area of expertise is occupational psychology. She wrote numerous research papers, one of which was titled When the dark shines: The role of Dark Personality Traits on Leadership Role Occupancy and Hiring Decisions in a Collectivistic Culture and was published in Social Psychological and Personality Science. She now teaches research methodology, career development, and current issues in industrial and organizational psychology.

Ghanis Putra Widhanarto, lecturer at Universitas Negeri Semarang, Department of Educational Technology, Faculty of Education. He teaches web-based learning, mobile learning, modern educational media development, computer animation for learning, digital learning, and e-learning development. His work in Educational Technology has been presented at a number of conferences and educational technology centres in Indonesia.

Ali Formen, PhD, lecturer at Universitas Negeri Semarang, Faculty of Education, Department of Early Childhood Education. He received a master's degree from Monash University and a doctorate from Auckland University. His areas of research interest include early childhood education, teacher education, and policy analysis.

Farid Ahmadi, PhD, lecturer at Universitas Negeri Semarang's Faculty of Education's Department of Elementary School Teacher Education. He is the author of nine books, including Primary Teacher in the Digital Era, China and Indonesia Education in Comparison, and The Sun Over the Horizon in Jeddah. He also received a Bachelor's Scholarship from the DINUS Organization, a Non-Degree University of London Scholarship, and a Doctoral IDB Scholarship.
