Hand Book of Tissue Culture
'It gives me great pleasure regarding tissue culture publication in my career. The booklet was an extract from my 15 years of experience in tissue culture and abstracts from international journals published by me and co-authors. The mind behind writing this book is to produce preliminary as well as an introductory text for undergraduate students to understand theoretical and applied aspects of plant tissue culture. The present book was presented point wise in a simple and lucid style to suit the B.Sc. students of Indian universities. Special care has been taken to present the subject matter as per need of students and include maximum recent information available up-to-date. The post graduate students will also be benefitted by this book. This book also covers the syllabus of plant tissue culture of NET examination conducted jointly by UGC and CSIR for the selection of research scholar. This book starts with a general organization and techniques of plant tissue culture to the reader. Besides these, basic and specific techniques of plant tissue culture, application of plant tissue culture in forestry, somaclonal variation, production of artificial seeds, cybrids, importance of plant tissue culture in biotechnology etc. have been specially discussed for higher studies. The conclusion deals with general application of plant tissue culture techniques in plant science. I hope that the book would be useful to teacher as well as students and generate enough interest. Lastly, I request my colleagues all over India to send me their healthy criticisms and their useful suggestions to improve the book.
