Assessing & Modelling the Infrastructure Imbalance in Urban City Applying Geo Informatic: Holistic Approach to Plan Sustainable City using Geospatial Technology
It is obvious and important time and again to relook into the stock of infrastructure and their services to the city. Analysis of quantity of infrastructure availability and its demand will give us the service status of the infrastructure. Such analysis would also guide us in the spatial allocation of new facilities. Hence, a balance in distribution can be achieved.
The need of study is to understand the distribution of necessary infrastructure for the good function of a city like Gulbarga. The scope of the present study limits to the infrastructure of Gulbarga city. The study attempts to analyze the distribution of hard and soft infrastructure within the city of Gulbarga there by analyzing the intra-city disparity of infrastructure.
The study limits to infrastructure of road, hospitals, energy-electricity infrastructure, Underground Liquid Drainage (ULD) infrastructure, potable water supply infrastructure, communication infrastructure using the location of cellular towers, solid waste collection infrastructure though location of dustbins, emergency infrastructure though location of hospitals, economic infrastructure though location of industries, education infrastructure through location of schools and colleges, and green infrastructure through location of dedicated parks.
Upon the spatial analysis of all the above mentioned infrastructure, their spatial disparity in their distribution was brought out. The reallocation of the infrastructure is also addressed in order to bring balance in their distribution.
