GOING STRATEGIC AT THE COMMUNITY LEVEL: An Insight into the HOW’s of Strategic Planning at the Community Level
As communities continue to get challenged in their sustainability status, strategic planning is increasingly becoming the only hope for upholding these communities. In fact, by being strategically focused in our planning, we will be able to make rational decisions on what to do and not what to do. These among other aspects will be very vital as we go strategic at the community level. It is therefore my sincere hope that this practical guide will provide guidance to many with interest in community development.
About the Author: Daniel Wandera Clief Naku is an academician at St John’s University of Tanzania as well as a Researcher and a Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant. He is a holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Urban and Regional Planning of the University of Dar es Salaam- UCLAS Campus, Tanzania; Master of Science Degree in Development Planning and Management of Dortmund University, Germany and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana; Masters Degree in Development Economics of the Institute of Rural Development Planning, Tanzania and currently a PhD Researcher at Ardhi University, Tanzania.
He possesses significant experience in teaching, research and carrying out consultancy assignments in Programme/ Project Planning and Management, Strategic Planning, Grant Proposal Writing as well as Monitoring and Evaluation. The author also provides professional training in the above mentioned areas with DFD Global Centre for Professional Training, Research and Consulting Firm.
He has also served as a lead consultant on projects and programs funded by institutions/organizations such as USAID, Land O Lakes Development Foundation, ILO and Government of Montserrat among others.
