This book is an attempt to highlight the vastness and the magnanimity of the Vedic scriptures. It portrays the essence of the ancient wisdom hidden in the Vedas, the Upanishads, the Puranas, the Itihasa’s and many other innumerable scriptures, that encompass not only theological knowledge but covers a wide variety of subjects including science, medicine, cosmology etc. The stories encapsulated in this book incline more towards the spiritual aspects, than religious. 
 
Hinduism always has been all inclusive and is more a way of life and culture, than a religion. It has not been founded by any one single person but has grown and evolved over thousands of years and with a multitude of concepts. It has been a sincere endeavour not to simply regurgitate the stories, but to compartmentalise them into a storyline and logical grouping, to an extent possible. Analogies and interpretations have been drawn, wherever appropriate. 
 
The book is broadly divided into three segments. It begins with the origin of the universe with an introduction to the trinity Gods – Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and the greatest of the feminine energy, the Adi Shakti. It traverses through various tales, emphasising the oneness of the formless and attribute less “Brahman” in its varied manifestations. The second segment deals with the fascinating “Leela’s” of Krishna, the protagonist of the Dvapara Yuga. In the third and the final segment, there is a paradigm shift from “tales” to “philosophy”. The segment focuses on the magnificent wisdom derived from the Upanishads and the other Shastras, portraying the essence of “karma”, “dharma” and the non-duality of the self and the “Brahman”. It lays down the principle, that understanding of the self is the highest form of knowledge. The segment also delves into the aspect of the Kundalini energy, Tantra and the Mahavidya representations of the Adi Shakti.
