The Seed of Beej Ganit (Algebra) through Stories
Did you ever consider the possibility of merging the entertainment of stories with the basic concepts of Algebra? In my school days, my teachers didn’t think so, and I had to learn it the hard way. But I am not alone; newspaper reports indicate that children in both India and the USA find Algebra challenging, especially when it is suddenly introduced at the middle school level. The mysterious ‘X’, the rules, and the formulae I was forced to learn took away some of my fun time. I don’t want history to repeat itself for my young friends, which is why I wrote this book, “The Seed of Beej Ganit (Algebra) Through Stories.” This book is targeted at primary school children aged 8-12 years.
After a successful career in Water Resources Engineering, I have committed myself to writing for children and young adults, with a mission to infuse positivity and make learning enjoyable. This book is a humble contribution toward that goal. The concept is to introduce algebra with minimal jargon through engaging, relatable stories that simplify complex ideas.
Key features of the book include:
• 10 relatable stories
• A young protagonist
• Simple, jargon-free language
• Gradual, interactive learning
• Illustrations and drawings
• Engaging activities
• Child-friendly formatting: large font (size 14) with double spacing
The following story titles offer a glimpse into the fun and educational journey the book provides:
• The Halloween Candy Collection
• Aadit Sends Candies to His Friends in India
• The Story of the Magical Forest
• Lessons from The Rotten Mangoes
• The Game of Signs
• The Birthday Cake
• Cashing of Points
• Aadit and Dadu Trick Grandma
• A Garden in the Backyard
• Cycling on a Fine Day
I am confident that my young friends will find the stories as interesting as the young reviewers who reviewed portions of my book and found it an enjoyable experienc
