Khoj - An Attempt
"When you can’t explain what you are feeling so you find a song that can. A home you build with the people you love. Retracing and restarting. Hearing someone say what you have needed to hear for so long. Roads you leave behind to reach places you dreamed about. Whispered cries and forced smiles. Hearing yourself laugh again.
Little wins.
Walking in circles that loop back to the same beginning. Procrastination that leads to breakdowns. Laughing in places you have cried.
A change of narrative
These pages carry emotions that we all feel but are too scared to acknowledge sometimes. Blinded by nostalgia, hopelessly trying to break the pattern, this book is for those who have loved and lost. It is for those who are afraid to open up, wondering whether it's safe or not because they are afraid that others might not relate with them.
Dedicated to everyone who thinks I am writing about them, I penned down these pieces as a 16-year-old in diaries nobody knew I kept, and now, finally, I have nothing to hide.
This book is a clustered compilation of my trauma and my happiness.
It is all I have known for the 6 years spent at a hostel that taught me how to live in the moment. This book is my step to get closer to figuring it out so that one day I can say, “I made it.”
