It is useful in demotosis, piles, chronic ulcers, colic pain and as a cataplasm in neuralgic pains. Since the discovery of colchicine in Gloriosa, a number of researchers have turn into this herb and established that Gloriosa could serve as a commercial source of colchicine. Even though it was becoming commercially important medicinal plant the management practices still needs attention.
