Life with GBM Brain Cancer - Blessing in Disguise
This book is a narration of the author’s on-going struggle with the most aggressive of brain cancers called Glioblastoma Multiform (GBM). With half of the patients dying under 15 months after diagnosis, the author feels lucky to have survived for almost 6 years, and looks forward to extend the life span as much as he can. In this book, the author shares the personal memoirs of the challenges of treatment , especially chemotherapy, and how with a unique outlook on life, nutrition and support from friends and families, the author has managed to get dozens of stable MRI Scans of the brain till date. It is a story of looking for reasons to continue to live well and not let fear take over the body and spirit.
All the learnings and lessons learnt by the author during this defining journey of six years have been compiled along with collection of essays in the second half of this book.
About the Author: Satinder Singh graduated in Electronics Engineering and post-graduated in International Business Management from leading institutes of India. He made a successful career in Investment Banks in London, which was cut short with the diagnosis of Brain Cancer in mid-2015. As of October 2021, he still lives in London and is undergoing treatment of GBM. He is married to Anu Singh and they have two children - Zoravar Singh (age 13) and Nimrat Singh (age 9).
