The book has proverbs which were used in Western Punjab in Pakistan. Most of the proverbs belong to the pre-partition era. These were spoken by the author’s paternal grandmother Mainavanti. The script used in the original proverbs is Hindi whereas the language is Punjabi and the meaning of the proverb is in Hindi (both script and meaning). 

About the Author: The author's name is Prem Lata and she is a homemaker. She is 84 years old and was born in Haranpur, Pakistan before the partition. After the partition, she came to India with her family and settled in Amritsar. She also writes a blog based on her childhood memories of pre-partition era. Baba Balak Nath is her ancestor. She keeps herself updated by reading and watching knowledgeable stuff.
