Echoes of the Heart
This book of poetry by Dr Abraham Verghese, an entomologist, ornithologist, nature conservationist and a spiritualist contains metric verses which are ‘silent songs from the heart’. Many reviewers have found the variety of themes in the composition to be a befitting symbolism of the diverse interests the author manifests. His constant association with farmers who sow and reap, seems to have influenced his personality, and this perhaps rings throughout the book in terms of eventual hope and triumph

In this book he tag-appends his name with Ph.D. only to gain more identity and to obviate readers from ascribing this book to namesakes; this being a common name of Kerala Christians! He is in the Editorial Board of several scientific journals and is the Editor-in-Chief of his popular insect science journal, Insect Environment, a quarterly (www.insectenvironment.com).
