About the Author: Amit Kathpalia, has multifarious experience of construction projects spanning over more than three decades in Indian Army, Military Engineering Service, Public Works Department, Corporate and Academia. As the Chief Engineer in MES, under Ministry of Defence and Andaman PWD, he has spearheaded projects in some of the most difficult and remote areas of India – Kashmir, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He was in charge of Facility Management as VP of USD 2.2 Bn company and developed new learning programs for mid-level and senior executives in Construction Contracts and Dispute Management as the Head of Training of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), South Asia. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at RICS School of Built Environment, Amity University, for students undergoing MBA programs in Construction Project Management and Quantity Survey. He is an FIDIC trainer and has conducted training programs for junior, mid-level and senior executives of reputed companies such as L&T, Indospace, Ajmera Realty, DLF, Chennai metro, Bengaluru Metro, Bengaluru International Airport, Konkan Railway, Birla Estates, Techno Electric & Engineering company Ltd, ITD Cementation, Suroj Buildcon and Karle Infrastructure. He is also an RICS counsellor and has successfully guided many candidates preparing for RICS APC.
