POETRY tops the list of 64 Fine Arts of which the next four in descending order are: Music, Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture. Centuries ago, everything in our country was written in Poetry because of its unique Mnemonic or easy-to-remember attribute. This was crucial because knowledge had to be committed to memory and transmitted from mouth to ear – in the absence of printing facilities.
