Aadhibhoutik Uponyashtroyee (Shoreeree-Ashoreeree, Bahnipatango, Adwaito: a trilogy)
Aadhibhoutik Uponyashtroyee (a collection of three inter-connected paranormal novels, as a trilogy) is a fictional work in Bengali. The book comprises three novels, viz. Shoreeree-Oshoreeree (meaning ‘Bodily and Beyond’), Bahnipotongo (meaning ‘the firebug’) and Adwaito (meaning ‘the non-dual’).
Young space scientist Agni and his danseuse wife Mohana fell in a dangerous trap when Agni collected an old Tibetan doll from Allahabad, and the Indian remote sensing satellites revealed unusual signatures from the hilly forest of Munnar, Kerala. During the investigation, they encounter a special cult of ‘Aghori’ saints, engaged in a dangerous occult mission in the deep forest. Shoree-Oshoreeree, the first novel, thus sets the background of an unfathomably deep secret, which is carried forward in the next two.
Mystery condensed. Agni and Mohana visited the Golkonda fort in Hyderabad. Mohana found each nook and corner of the fort uncannily familiar. Deja Bhu? A stranger discovered striking resemblance to Mohana’s face with the queen of the fort, whose death still remains a mystery. When darkness fell, the psychopath had his eerie plan to settle with Mohana. ‘Bahnipotongo’ is woven around the history of the Qutubshahi dynasty, which takes dangerous turns to indicate a dark secret of history.
Lawrna, an Anglo-Indian investigative journalist, a college-mate of Mohana, discovered the cursed history of her ancestor, buried in the Park Street cemetery in Kolkata, which was connected with the days of East India Company. Investigations revealed the hidden link between the mysterious forest in the Shrishailam hills, where alchemists still indulge in dangerous occult practices, the lesser-known resemblance of the Skandagiri hill in Karnataka with the sleeping Lord Narasimha, and a Tibetan Tantric monastery. In the historical paranormal thriller ‘Adwaito’, the darkest secret of four thousand years in unveiled, and the dots of the mysteries unexplained in the first two novels get connected.
