This is a combination of personal experiences of the author, impressions of interesting people and places he got to know as well as a biography of the author's mother, who escaped from Nazi Germany, and lived thereafter in India, working mainly as a teacher.
The author is the son of an Indian father and German mother, and completed his schooling and college education in India, after which he studied and underwent corporate training in Germany. He worked for about 33 years with Siemens in Bombay and retired in 2001 to settle down with his wife, Indira, in Chandigarh.
They had married in Bombay soon after he started working with Siemens. During his employment he set up and ran a Business Administration Training Centre on behalf of Siemens and a number of other, mainly German, companies.
