About the Author: Prof. R.A.Raju is a post graduate of Jawaharlal Nehru Agril. University and obtained his doctorate from Banara Hindu University. He done his post doctoral research at International Rice Research Institute, Los banos, Philippines with Rocke Feller Foundation Fellowship. He worked as a principal scientist and professor of Agronomy in Acharya N.G.Ranga Agril. varsity for about 30 years.

Dr. Raju is a Luminary researcher and emulative scientific writer and associated with several national and international scientific societies as an Editor and referee. He published more than 120 research papers and written 15 text books in Agril. Sciences. He visited about 30 developed countries including U.S.A., Europe, Scandinavian, South East; to study the native crops, food habits and cultural background. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards.
