Ecstasy and The Abstract Truth
The poems in this book were written by a woman who has learned to live life to the full and to embrace all it has to offer. They are both real and fantasy, fictional and fictionalised, the ephemera of dreams both lived and imagined. They celebrate sensuality and exploration. There is no moral or normative stance; it is left to readers to colour the spaces and connect the dots with their own imaginations and mappings of desire. The mind is the most potent aphrodisiac of all; these poems are meant to be an embarkation point for new journeys of self-discovery.
About the Author: Niloufer Rohira’s life has been a journey of discovery. An only child, the daughter of an army veteran and a medical nurse, Niloufer’s early years were fraught with joy and sadness in equal measure. She learned quickly, that pleasure and pain were part of life and our experiences of both, make us who we are. The eternal optimist, she moved with hope, from one phase to the next, always believing that one could create one’s own reality, an escape from the drudgery of everyday life.
A catering graduate, she worked in the hospitality industry, ran her own corporate housekeeping business and ventured into the world of live western music promoting it and encouraging musicians by supporting their talents.
The woman, the poet, the dreamer however could not be suppressed for too long and she has poured her innermost feelings and desires into this book.
As she says, "Come journey with me and experience the joy of love, lust and longing."
The author lives and works in Mumbai.
